Riverhead Rotary installs officers and directors for 2014-2015

Riverhead Rotary installed new officers and inducted three new members in July.

Tom Lennon, of East Quogue, was sworn in as president of Riverhead Rotary at the club's annual installation dinner June 21. Lennon, a 12-year Rotary club member, is chief financial officer at Pine Barrens Printing in Westhampton and the second vice president of the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Marilyn McLaughlin, of Flanders, principal in Peconic Regional Hematology-Oncology in Riverhead is the club's president-elect. Elizabeth Hanlon, of Manorville, owner of the Hanlon Allstate Insurance Agency in Riverhead and Wading River, was sworn in as secretary. Ginger Lewin, of South Jamesport, an owner of Lewin Services and Lewin Medical Supply in Riverhead, took the oath of office for a second term as treasurer. 

New board members installed for 2014-2015 are: Noreen Grossklaus, of Aquebogue, a property manager with Stark Homes Inc. in Riverhead; Kimberly Cioch, of Riverhead, vice president, commercial lending, Bridgehampton National Bank; and Martin Burrows Sr., of Flanders.

The installation dinner was held this year at the Baiting Hollow home of Rotarian Jack Van de Wetering and his wife Alice.

Riverhead Rotary also welcomed three new members last month:

Gino Veneroso, corporate sales manager at the Inn and Spa at East Wind in Wading River, hails from upstate Broadalbin, N.Y. He is active in both the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce and the North Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce. 

Dawn Vogel, of Riverhead, is a 21-year-employee at Apple Honda, where she holds the position of controller/office manager. 

North Fork Energy in Cutchogue, the club's newest corporate member. North Fork Energy, in its fifth year of business, is owned by Jessica DiBiasi.

Chartered in 1931, Riverhead Rotary is one of the oldest Rotary Clubs in Suffolk County and, with nearly 100 members, the largest Rotary Club on Long Island.

Riverhead Rotary meets every Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. for lunch at the SeaStar Ballroom, L.I. Aquarium and Exhibition Center on East Main Street in Riverhead. The club holds several fundraising events annually: a spaghetti dinner; Rotary Uncorked, a local wine & food smorgasbord; the Bruce Stark Memorial Golf Outing; refreshment booths at the Riverhead Country Fair; and a pancake breakfast. Monies raised at these events and other endeavors support college scholarships and numerous local charities.
